Thanksgiving
Well, we had our thanksgiving, our first one without mom in person. I know she was with us in spirit but just not the same. Thanksgiving was mom's favorite holiday with christmas right behind it. Mom loved all the food we would cook, her stuffing, her mac'n'cheese homemade style with velveeta. While at my sister's, i could smell my mother's scent, as if she were there. I smiled really big when I smelled it, I knew she was there with us. We had a great time, my sister put mother's wheelchair at the head of the table and every once in while I would glance that way and i could picture her. we had fun laughing, food, cowboys and they won woohoo. Afterwards when the cleaning of everything and putting tables and chairs up, my sis was moving my mother's wheelchair to put it up in the garage it was then that I stopped what I was doing, loading my truck and looked over at my sister brushing off the wheelchair and I pictured my mother waving bye to me and I heard a faint whisper telling me it's ok. I lost it, I didn't want to but I couldn't hold back the tears. I cried hard. When we were ready to leave, me and my two sister were standing next to each other and my our big sister was between me and Mira and she hugged us, I knew right there that everything is going to be ok. I needed that hug from her, I love you!

Quince
My daughter will be 15 come this New Year and we are going to have a party for her. Not a traditional quince but a party nonetheless. DJ has been booked, if you in the Dallas/Ft Worth area and need a DJ send him an email at djalexlopez@yahoo.com, he gave me a really good deal for 6 hours of non-stop music. We have the dance hall booked :) as well. Next is making the invites, dress package, cake, decorations. Seems like time will fly by but I know that I can do this. Thanks to my family and friends who have agreed to be 'padrinos' for her party.
Her colors will be red and black. Her dress that she picked out is a 3-pc with a little jacket, and the bottom of the dress is actually a removable to turn the dress into a party dress. Pics will be posted later.

I find it interesting that they no longer state a number of miles between your oil changes, but say refer to your manual. It seemed like for decades it was always 3000 miles.
Congrats!!!!

@ the drive in :)
I remember when my mother and step-father would take us to the drive in at Gemini in Dallas.
The Gemini Twin Drive-In opened in 1965. This was a large drive-in with a capacity for 2,000 cars. In later years a third screen was added. The Gemini Drive-in was located at the northeast corner of the Forest Lane/Central Expressway intersection in Dallas. It was demolished in the late 1980s.
This past Friday me and my sisters went to a drive in in Ennis, TX and took our kids. I enjoyed it so much and it brought back alot of memories for me. :)
the cost is only $6 per person for a double feature, we watched 2012 and Stepfather. Both were good movies and the food is very inexpensive!

Orienteering - Love it!
This weekend I went to Pottosboro, TX with NMHS O Team. My daughter competes as well. We headed over to the All Saints Camp and Conference for a two day meet.
Orienteering is where you have a map, compass and find your way from point 'A' to 'B'. In this case our map has 12 points and we have to navigate thru the woods, up some small hills, maybe cross a small creek or two in some cases and find our control points. Each control is numbered so on our clue chart our control points are 1 thru 12 but each one has a number, so if we come across say control number 150 for point 1 then that means we are not at the correct point per our map. So our point one on our map
is actually control number 127 which we found and decided to take a picture of each control as we found them.. Here I am at point 8 can you tell I'm sweating and tired? LOL We lost 10 minutes due to my fault of reading the map. Where i thought we were suppose to cross a bridge and really shouldn't of to find point 11. After point 11 I walked between some trees and felt a big spider web and looked over to my right and found this spider haning from a tree limb climbing. Thank God it wasn't on me. can you see him?
We finished a White course in one hour and 8 minutes. Not bad for our first time, we didn't get timed but we both agreed we would register for the Dec meet. :)
NMHS rec'd several medals as you can see here below:
Me and Al decided to camp Saturday night, we walked by the lake, hike a trail, sat on a wooden swing set overlooking the lake and watched for stars but too cloudy. There is much to do there, Volleyball, swim, camp, hike, bike, rope courses. we loved it!

Oil Change Giveaway
I recently made a trip to Jiffy Lube and thanks to my $35 giftcard from Shell Lubricants and MotorOilMatters.org and the information thru MyBlogSpark I only paid $5.00 out of pocket. The total for my big truck was actually $45 but I found a $5 coupon on Jiffy's website.
http://www.jiffylube.com/specialpromos/specialpromotions.aspx
I love working on my truck, I can change my brakes, spark plugs, alternator, radiator, a flat tire and believe me my truck has some heavy tires. :) but when it comes to changing the oil, I know how but I prefer not to. I also visited MotorOilMatters.org and realized that I know some about vehicles but I also had some wrong answers on the M.O.M game. But I learned some new helpful information as well.
And you can win a complimentary $35 Jiffy Lube gift card thanks to Shell Lubricants and MotorOilMatters.org and MyBlogSpark. Simply leave a comment in regards to one of the following or all of them :)
*What you found most interesting on the Motor Oil Matters site
*What motor oil misconception did you have that was put to rest through the site’s info?
*What your score was on the M.O.M. Knows Best game
One entry per email, all duplicates will be deleted. This game is only open to U.S. residents. The winner will be chosen by random.org on Wednesday Nov 18th at 12 noon CST. One entry per person, please leave your email address if not in your blogger profile. The winner will have 24 hrs to repsond to my email or another winner will be chosen. Good Luck!
